 With barely few weeks to the commencement of the FIFA U-20 world cup, New Zealand 2015, the flying Eagles will be hoping to beat previous records of been runners up in 1989 and 2005
The team, which is coached by Manu Garba and assisted by Nduka Ugbade have players that comprise those that won the 2013 edition of the FIFA U-17 championship
Interestingly, the team and the coaching crew were drafted to the U-20 immediately after they won the FIFA under 17 championships in the United Arab Emirates. The likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Chidiebere Nwakali, Sunday Alampasu, Isaac Success, Taiwo Awoniyi, Musa Yahaya to mention a few shown like a million stars in the week long competition

NFF releases round 64 matches of the federation cup in

The Nigerian football federation [NFF] has released the draws and venues of the round of 32 matches of this year’s men’s federation cup competition.
The draws which took place at the NFF secretariat yesterday comprised of the men’s and women categories.
The women category showed that Moje Queens of Ilorin will play Golden Babes of Abakiliki in warri, while Oginni Queens of Osogbo will trade tackle with rising queens of Akure in Ilorin.
Speaking shortly after the draws, head of Federation cup, Ruth David said that these matches will come up on Thursday may 4.
“Transparency and good co-ordination is what we are going to enforce in this year’s federation cup”
“Our major challenge is getting a sponsor for the competition but we hope to have one soon”, she said.
However in the mens event, Enyimba stadium will host eight-time winners’ shooting stars of Ibadan in Aba and one- time champions Plateau united of Jos, while Kaduna United and five-time champions Enugu Rangers will trade tackle in lokoja.
Other fixtures are Bayelsa united lock horns with Nembe city at the Neros Stadium in Anambra, Giwa Fc and Kurkuru Dragons of Benin play in Minna.
Meanwhile, the final of the federation cup will be held at the teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

Olanrewaju Preaches Change in Swan as New President Emerges Today

The race for the next Sports Writers association, SWAN, presidency has heighten up as elections hold today at its secretariat in the main bowl of the national stadium Surulere.

Segun Olanrewaju made his intention to contest for the president after consultiing with elders of the SWAN body.

According to him, his purpose for contesting is to bring the necessary change needed in the Swan body because the Swan that he used to know is not the Swan of today.

Ishola wants revival of pro boxing in Nigeria


Former African junior welterweight champion, Nigerian Hakeem Ishola, has expressed bitterness over death of promotion and running of professional boxing in the country.
Ishola, said boxing should not be left to die, reiterating that professionals should be given the opportunity to handle the administration of the pugilist trade in Nigeria.
ha claimed that if former boxers are given the opportunity to give advice to those who are the administrators of professional boxing in the country, it will go a long way to revive the sport and bring back the lost glory.
